Introducing GAMES of WAR

For those who don't know about Games of War.

They have been trading for a good few years now and the shop is ran by Alan, Yvonne and there son Scott so being a family business you know you’ll get looked after. This is however a side business which was started to use up the ample space they had in their warehouse which we the gamers can fully benefit from.

Firstly there is a shop stocking figures from many ranges (including WM/H), hobby supplies (paints, glues, basing and storage), they have a lazer cutter for making foam trays and plastic templates to your own bespoke specifications and better still they have accounts with many suppliers to order in just about anything you may need, so if its not for sale ask about it. Alan also does his own ranges of products from scenery, to boats and buildings and other resin items. This is ever expanding and again he’s always willing to listen to good ideas.

Secondly there is the large gaming hall, which is open daily for drop in gaming priced at £1 per head, this also has a veterans night on Tuesdays where the NWA hold there weekly meeting and open gaming on Saturdays. You can also hire the hall to run events or participate in the regular calendar of events GOW run (the Northeast Hordes and Warmachine Forum run the Warmachine and Hordes events).

Other benefits are location, being in Seaham they are pretty central in the Northeast with the local Train Station but 100 yards from the entrance and bus links to Sunderland and Durham only half a mile away. There is ample free parking on site and its only 2 mins from the A19 or 10 mins from the A1. You can travel from Sunderland, Durham, Newcastle or Middlesboro within 20 mins by car (traffic permitting).

Finally the store generically offers a discount on RRP for most lines so if you’re in the area and want to find a game and pick up some supplies it certainly needs to be a consideration. Of course there are other local suppliers and online retailers but as a long time user of this establishment have nothing but good things to say about the personal service I receive.
