And now for something completely different
What do people think about doubles tournaments and I mean both players on the same table versus two opponents on the same table?
Are they fun/worth it?
What sort of points values per player and team.
Should the two armies be allied/same.
Character restrictions across both armies.
The reason I asked is we've not been to a doubles event for nearly two years, it was a blast, but also totally whacky.
Maybe something that can draw new players in to, just thinking at the moment.

Re: And now for something completely different
I'd like it on separate tables. Just it can be congested with two players. But either way, I'll play in it.

Re: And now for something completely different
Is this a fun format?
One person doesn't like doubles but two man team event.
Any other thoughts or points I raised?

Re: And now for something completely different
I dislike off pisté things as a rule, but would play in a same table doubles event.
Just so Owen and I can squabble about everything and clock ourselves...

Re: And now for something completely different
I'm up for this, out of all the "silly" events that get run I would like to try this one the most. It just seems ridiculous.
I agree with Mark and would never run this for a beginners thing.

Re: And now for something completely different
OK, so actual opinions on doubles as a format - it's fun and it's interesting but there needs to be some restriction on players moving stuff, such as only having one activation going on at a time (otherwise it gets confusing and can lead to some dodgy interactions). 35pts was reasonable last time; I can see the logic behind a same-faction restriction but in our meta that just isn't practical without people not being able to play what they want to (the fact that it makes doubles less broken has nothing to do with my opinion here btw ). To round off, yes, there should be character restrictions because that would elevate things to the super-broken levels.
I'd attend another doubles for the laughs

Re: And now for something completely different
It is a very fun event when done right or a nightmare if done wrong. The main issue is turn times get that right and maybe the points limit (no more then 35, 25 could be very fun) and you're sorted.
I'd be up for this, just need to convince someone to partner me..,
