Warcasters on fire
Can you please help. Just been lissoning to chain attack report for the first time. When they reported a game where a warcastor suffered continuos fire effect. On its turn it did not stop so it suffered st 12 dam. but then they said it lost all it focus points... Is this true I can't find any referance in the rule book ?

I think they maybe miss reading this
"Warcasters do not benefit from an overboosted powerfield when they take a Fire damage roll because continuous fire is rolled after focus from the previous round is removed, but before new focus is gained."
So you get no Focus bonus added to your str, but you do gain focus if you survive the round.

Fire is done in the maintenance phase and you have no focus at this point as the first thing you do in the maintenance phase is drop any from the previous turn. Then work out effects then in control phase get it back - fire really hurts warcasters

Thanks for the rely SIB and friends but Im still not to clear.. do they lose focus if still on fire ? Here is the episode I got the clue from..

They seam matter of fact on the first turn harbringer is set on fire she fails her stop fire roll and they all agree she is allocated no focus that turn OUCH -10 thats a game changer ???

No, she (or any other warcaster) won't get the armour bonus for overboosting because at the time fire is resolved, it's before focus allocation. So the Pow 12 fire damage is against their base Arm but they get the focus afterwards if they live.
When in doubt, check the rules first rather than trusting a podcast to be right.
